QUESTIONS
What will happen at the appointment?
When you arrive, we’ll start with a quick consultation form and waiver – nothing scary, just a few details to make sure everything goes smoothly. I’ll then talk you through the process, including the weld guarantee and how to care for your new piece.
Then comes the fun part! You’ll choose your favourite chain from a selection of beautiful sterling silver and 14ct gold-filled options, and if you’d like to add a personal touch, you can pick a charm or connector too. (Please note – the chains and charms available may vary slightly from what’s shown online, but everything is handpicked and lovely.)
Once you’ve made your choices, your bracelet will be custom fitted to your wrist. When you’re happy with the fit, the two ends will be joined with a small jump ring and welded together using a state-of-the-art micro welder.
The weld is quick, safe and completely painless.
I'll provide protective glasses to shield your eyes from the welding flash and a protective leather patch will be placed between your wrist and the bracelet for extra safety. If friends and family with you want to watch they can view safely through their phone camera.
How long will the appointment take?
Appointments usually take around 20–30 minutes. You’ll choose your chain, try on sizes for the perfect fit, and then we’ll weld your piece in place. If you’re coming with a friend or group, I allow a bit more time so there’s no rush – just a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

What variety of chains and charms do you have available.
There are 15 beautiful chains to choose from – in sterling silver and 14ct gold-filled – each one carefully selected for both quality and style.
To make your piece even more personal, you can add a charm or connector from a thoughtfully curated selection. Choose from classic circles, hearts, stars, freshwater pearls, beads and gemstones – including lovely little birthstone charms. I do my best to keep all months in stock, but availability can sometimes vary.
Please note that chain and charm options may change slightly from what’s pictured on the website, but everything I offer is chosen with care and sourced from trusted UK suppliers.
What does gold filled mean?
Gold-filled jewellery is a beautiful, long-lasting alternative to solid gold. Each piece has a thick layer of 14ct gold that's bonded to a base metal (usually brass) using heat and pressure – so it’s much more durable than standard gold plating. In fact, it contains around 5% real gold by weight, giving you that rich, golden glow without the higher price tag.
With a little care, your gold-filled permanent jewellery should last for years – often three or more. Just like with all precious pieces, how you wear and care for it makes a difference. To keep it sparkling, it’s best to avoid frequent exposure to perfumes, chlorine, and harsh chemicals (hot tubs and swimming pools can be especially tricky).
Looked after gently, it’s a lovely option for everyday elegance that stands the test of time.
What is the warranty?
Permanent jewellery is designed to be worn every day, and with a little care, it should last for years. The chains I use are strong and durable – perfect for daily wear – but like all jewellery, they’re not indestructible. If your piece gets caught or pulled (especially on something like clothing or equipment), it may break or stretch.
That’s intentional – I use lightweight chains so that in rare situations where the jewellery could be caught in machinery or pulled sharply, it will break to avoid injury.
If your bracelet does break or needs adjusting, don’t worry – I offer a complimentary weld guarantee. Just book a quick appointment and I’ll re-weld it or resize it free of charge.
However, if your work or hobbies mean your piece is regularly at risk of getting caught – think contact sports, manual jobs or activities with tight gear or equipment – permanent jewellery might not be the right choice at the moment. If breakages happen repeatedly for these reasons, they’re not covered by the guarantee and a small re-welding fee may apply.
Gold-filled jewellery is a lovely and lasting option – many pieces last upwards of three years. That said, its longevity depends a little on your lifestyle. To keep it looking its best, try to avoid frequent exposure to perfumes, chlorine, and other strong chemicals – especially those found in swimming pools and hot tubs – as they can wear the gold layer more quickly over time.
A little care goes a long way – and I’m always here if you need help along the way.
What is the cost?
The cost of your permanent jewellery piece varies based on your chosen chain and any added charms or connectors.
- Sterling silver chains: £45 to £55
- Sterling silver charms/connectors: £10 to £25
- Gold filled chains: £55 to £65
- Gold filled charms/connectors: £15 to £25
If you book an appointment after taking a jewellery class (the bracelet has to be fitted directly after the class), you'll receive a 15% discount on your permanent jewellery.
Will it tarnish?
Permanent jewellery is made to be worn and enjoyed every day – including in the shower or even while swimming. That said, it’s best to avoid frequent exposure to chlorine, perfumes, and other harsh chemicals, as they can cause tarnishing over time. For gold-filled pieces, these substances may also wear down the gold layer more quickly.
If you’ve been in a swimming pool or hot tub, it’s a good idea to rinse your jewellery afterwards and gently dry it to help keep it sparkling.
Everyone’s skin is a little different, and natural pH levels can sometimes affect how jewellery wears. If your piece does begin to tarnish, don’t worry – it’s easy to bring the shine back with a simple clean. Just follow the care tips below and your jewellery will be glowing again in no time.
How will I keep it clean?
To keep your permanent jewellery looking its best, a little regular care goes a long way. Gently clean it using a polishing cloth or make a simple paste with baking soda and a drop of washing-up liquid. Use a soft brush to clean your jewellery, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Try to avoid contact with perfume, chlorine, and strong household chemicals where possible, as they can cause the metal to tarnish over time.
You’ll be given a little aftercare kit to take home with you after your appointment.
Is the welding process safe and will it be painful?
Yes, absolutely. The process is quick, safe and completely painless. A tiny spark is used to close the loop of your chain. I use professional equipment in a calm and welcoming studio space, so the whole experience is as safe as it is special.
I'll provide protective glasses to shield your eyes from the welding flash and a protective leather patch will be placed between your wrist and the bracelet for extra safety. If friends and family with you want to watch they can view safely through their phone camera.
What if I have to remove my permanent jewellery?
No problem at all – life changes, and that’s okay. You can simply snip your piece off with scissors at the jump ring (I’ll show you where) and if you ever want it re-welded or resized, just get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.
MRI scan - the bracelets are not magnetic and shouldn't need to be removed but some hospitals will insist on removal. Please follow the steps above.
Do you have a minimum age for fitting permanent jewellery?
The minimum age for fitting a permanent bracelet is 14. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges on permanent jewellery?
As permanent jewellery is a personalised item, we do not accept returns. All sales are final once the chain has been cut.
Cancellation policy
The £15 deposit is non refundable if the appointment is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.
If you cancel with more than 48 hours notice, the deposit can be transferred to an alternative date.
Medical exclusions
Pacemakers – If you have a pacemaker, permanent jewellery sadly isn’t suitable, as the welding process could interfere with the device.
MRIs & Medical Procedures – Some medical scans, such as MRIs, require the removal of all metal jewellery. In these cases, your bracelet would need to be carefully cut at the jump ring and re-welded afterwards – which I’m happy to help with.
Skin Sensitivities & Allergies – If you have known allergies to sterling silver or gold, permanent jewellery may not be the right option for you.
Circulation & Swelling – If you experience swelling due to a medical condition, a permanent bracelet might become uncomfortable over time. If you’re unsure, it’s always best to check with your doctor before booking.
Your comfort and safety are always the top priority – and if you have any questions or concerns, I’m always here to chat things through.
Can I go through airport security wearing permanent jewellery?
Your permanent jewellery shouldn’t cause any issues at airport security – it’s perfectly safe to wear while travelling.
If, for any reason, you do need to remove your piece, you can carefully snip the jump ring with a strong pair of scissors or nail clippers. Hold onto your chain, and just get in touch when you're back – I’ll be happy to re-weld it for you.
