WHAT IS PERMANENT WELDED JEWELLERY?
Permanent bracelets are a unique, clasp-free accessory designed to be worn on your wrist indefinitely. Instead of a traditional clasp, the bracelet is welded in place, creating a seamless, continuous design.
Bracelets are available in high quality sterling silver or 14ct gold-filled finishes and are customisable, allowing you to choose your chain, charms, or connectors for a truly bespoke piece.
They’re a perfect way to celebrate love, friendship, or a special moment or milestone in your life.
The welding process is quick, safe, and painless, making it a fun experience to enjoy alone or with loved ones!
The bracelets are fitted in my jewellery studio in Cornhill on Tweed, TD12 4UE. If you're attending one of my jewellery classes and book a permanent jewellery appointment directly after the class, you'll receive a 15% discount!
All permanent jewellery information is listed below but if you have any questions, please let me know!

What does gold filled mean?
Gold-filled jewellery is a high-quality, durable alternative to solid gold. It consists of a thick layer of 14ct solid gold (typically 5% of the item's total weight) permanently bonded to a base metal, usually brass, through heat and pressure.
Unlike gold plating, which has a very thin layer of gold that can wear off quickly, gold-filled jewellery is much more durable and long-lasting.
Your gold filled permanent jewellery should last at least 3 years but this is dependant on your lifestyle. Frequent and prolonged contact with perfume, chlorine and other chemicals (especially those found in hot tubs/swimming pools) can cause the gold layer to wear down more quickly.
What is the warranty?
Permanent jewellery is strong and durable and is designed to withstand normal everyday wear.
It is not however indestructible so if you catch the chain on something it may break. Lightweight chains are used intentionally so that they will break under circumstances such as being caught in machinery to prevent injuries.
If your bracelet does break, please book an appointment and it will be welded back on free of charge.
If you have a job or take part in sports or activities where the bracelet is at high risk of being caught, it may not be advisable for you to have permanent jewellery fitted.
What is the cost?
The cost of your permanent jewellery piece varies based on your chosen chain and any added charms or connectors.
- Sterling silver chains: £45 to £55
- Sterling silver charms/connectors: £10 to £25
- Gold filled chains: £55 to £65
- Gold filled charms/connectors: £15 to £25
If you book an appointment after taking a jewellery class (the bracelet has to be fitted directly after the class), you'll receive a 15% discount on your permanent jewellery.
Will it tarnish?
You can safely swim and shower with permanent jewellery, but prolonged exposure to chlorine, perfumes, and other chemicals may cause tarnishing and may cause the gold layer on gold filled jewellery to wear down more quickly.
Please clean your jewellery after being in a hot tub/swimming pool.
Everyone’s skin reacts differently to metals—some may experience faster tarnishing due to natural skin pH.
If your jewellery tarnishes, follow the cleaning instructions below to restore its shine.
How will I keep it clean?
To keep your permanent jewellery looking it's best, clean regularly with a polishing cloth or clean with a solution of baking soda and washing up liquid. Simply mix into a paste and clean the jewellery gently with a soft brush.
Avoid contact with perfume and strong chemicals as much as possible as they can cause the metal to tarnish.
You'll be given a small after care kit away with you after your appointment.
Is the welding process safe and will it be painful?
The welding process is completely safe and will not hurt in any way!
To ensure your safety during the welding process, we provide protective glasses to shield your eyes from the welding flash. If friends and family with you want to watch they can view safely through their phone camera.
Additionally, a protective leather patch will be placed between your wrist and the bracelet for extra safety.
What if I have to remove my permanent jewellery?

MRI scan - the bracelets are not magnetic and shouldn't need to be removed but some hospitals will insist on removal. Please follow the steps above.
