Silver Stacking Rings Workshop - Tuesday 6th October (10.30am to approx. 2.30pm)

Regular price £79.00
5 places available
Description

Design and make your own sterling silver stacking rings in this relaxed, beginner friendly class.

In this class, you’ll create three beautiful textured sterling silver stacking rings and add a silver nugget embellishment if you choose (you’ll make this yourself by melting down silver wire).

You’ll be guided through each step, learning a range of traditional silversmithing techniques including sizing, cutting, shaping, texturing, soldering, filing, polishing, and finishing.

All tools and materials are included and you’ll have your own professionally equipped jeweller's bench to work on.

Classes are kept small and friendly at just five people ensuring that you'll have plenty of one-to-one support and time for questions.

At the end of the session, you’ll leave with three finished rings to take home and wear, or gift to someone special.

How long is the class?
The class lasts approximately 4 hours, including a refreshment break. If your class runs over lunchtime, you’re very welcome to bring along a packed lunch. Or, if you’d prefer something freshly made, the Cornhill Village Shop offers delicious filled rolls, pastries and quiches. Please make sure you visit before the class as the break can be quite short.

Please note that class times are approximate and may run over or finish a earlier, depending on the group.

What’s included?
• Tea, coffee, water & muffins (from our fabulous local shop!)
• All tools and equipment
• Enough sterling silver to make 3 rings
• A silver nugget

If you have any dietary needs or allergies, just let me know when booking and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

BY BOOKING THIS CLASS, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE CANCELLATION POLICY AND ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS LISTED HERE.

Do I need any jewellery making experience?

Absolutely not! All classes are suitable for complete beginners and even if you're "not crafty", don't worry, you'll get plenty of one to one guidance in the class!

What should I wear/bring to class?
  • Please do not wear sandals or open toe shoes. If you do, you will not be able to take part in some parts of the class.
  • No loose clothing
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • If you wear reading glasses, please bring them with you.
  • Aprons are provided for silversmithing classes, but it’s still best not to wear your finest outfit as jewellery making can be a bit grubby!
  • For silver clay classes, aprons aren’t needed (or provided) as things tend to stay a little cleaner but I still recommend wearing something comfy and practical, just in case.
Minimum age

The minimum age for classes is 13, and anyone under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who’s also taking part in the class.

Exceptions can sometimes be made for younger children – please get in touch with me to discuss before booking the class.

Where is the Studio

Classes take place in my studio at:

Plenty of free parking is available onsite.

Accessibility
  • The workshop is accessible to wheelchair users. If you need wheelchair access, please let me know at the time of booking so I can make sure this is clear.
  • Disabled parking is available directly outside the workshop.
  • Classes are suitable for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility but please contact me to discuss before the class as some areas of the workshop are narrow and the height of the jewellery benches cannot be altered. Part of the class involves using a foot pedal but I can help if you are unable to use one.
  • An accessible toilet is available in the centre.
  • Making jewellery is a physical craft and silversmithing classes involve hammering and bending metal which does take some strength. If you have arthritis in your hands or wrists, you may struggle but don't worry, I'm happy to step in and help if needed. Silver clay classes are not so physical and may be a better option.
I have a gift voucher - how do I use it?

Please enter the voucher code in the "discount code or gift card" box when you check out.

What if I have to cancel my booking?

If you have to cancel your booking, there are several options depending on how much notice you give. Full details on the cancellation policy can be found here.
